About Eric

Eric is an Elder Law attorney in Portland Oregon. His practice emphasizes Guardianships and Conservatorships, Medicaid, and Long-term care and Special Needs Planning.

Prior to opening his own office, Eric worked at Fitzwater Meyer Hollis & Marmion, one of the largest Elder Law firms in the state.  While there, he honed his skills in Guardianship, Conservatorship and Medicaid and gained significant expertise in contested matters and in representing Respondents in protective proceedings. Before joining Fitzwater Meyer, Eric worked at a Tiffany & O'Shea, a Professional Fiduciary firm in Portland focusing extensively on Guardianship, Conservatorship, and Estate Administration matters.  It was there that he learned the field from the ground up, an experience that gives him special insight into the unique challenges that fiduciaries face.

Eric has presented on a variety Elder Law topics at Continuing Legal Education Seminars, and community events. Examples of presentations are the following: How Public Benefits Could Affect Your Probate Case, Oregon Law Institute CLE: “ABC’s of Decedents’ Estate Administration”; Estate Planning by Protected Persons, Oregon Law Institute CLE: “Estate Planning for Protected Persons and People with Disabilities.”

Raised in San Rafael, California, Eric holds a B.A. in Physical Anthropology from University of California Santa Barbara, and a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
